What I would Tell my Younger Self (things I wish I knew)

  • It’s OK to not know what you want to do, career-wise.
  • If someone loves you, they will show it in their actions.
  • A relationship with God is the most important relationship that you will ever have.
  • Pray about everything.
  • You will never be too old to follow your dreams.
  • Do not settle.
  • Set boundaries and stick to them.
  • Don’t be afraid to go outside of your comfort zone.
  • Don’t be afraid to try new things.
  • Things will not always be so hard.
  • Forgiveness doesn’t mean that you have to reconcile.
  • Make boundaries and keep them.
  • It’s Ok to let toxic people go, even if it hurts.
  • Don’t let your trauma keep you stuck.
  • Don’t let others determine your worth.
  • Take care of your health (don’t take it for granted).
  • Self-care is essential.
  • Don’t beat yourself up over past mistakes.
  • Don’t suffer in silence.
  • Don’t live in fear of the unknown.
  • God hears your cries and is working things out for your good (Romans 8:28).

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose (Rom.8:28).”

  • Cherish the friendships that feed your soul.
  • Don’t neglect your own needs to fulfill someone else’s.
  • It’s ok to say NO.
  • Cherish the time that you have with your children.
  • Find things that bring you joy.
  • Hold onto your peace.
  • Trust your gut.
  • Learn to love yourself.
  • Don’t dim your light to make other people comfortable.
  • Don’t put people on pedestals.
  • Don’t tell people your business if you don’t want them to give their input.
  • Don’t let people take advantage of you.
  • Don’t forget to thank God for all of your blessings.
  • Getting older shouldn’t be something to fear.
  • It’s ok to cut off toxic family members if they don’t respect your boundaries.
  • Find joy in the little things.
  • Set short-term and long-term goals for yourself.
  • You are worthy of love and respect.
  • Trust is something that is earned.
  • Don’t let people make excuses for mistreating you.
  • You should never stop seeking knowledge.
